Dr. Chandra Whittley

First Lady and

Director of Women's Ministry

Dr. Chandra Whittley is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a fifth generation member of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). She is the devoted wife of twenty one years to Pastor David Todd Whittley and the mother of their two children, David Jonathan and Sydney Nicole.

Dr. Whittley graduated from high school as class valedictorian even after sustaining a life threatening brain hemorrhage from an aneurysm. After her miraculous healing she was inspired to begin her quest of study in Neurological Sciences, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology from Rhodes College and a Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis.  Dr. Whittley subsequently completed post-doctoral professional training in Neurology and Fellowship Training in Epilepsy at Rush Presbyterian–St. Luke’s Medical Center (Chicago, Illinois) and was listed as an Associate Professor, Department of Neurological Sciences – Rush Medical College.  She is a published author & co-author in various neurological journals.

Due to complications arising from a third brain hemorrhage (and second brain surgery), Dr. Whittley was forced to end her formal practice of medicine.  Nevertheless, she remains committed to God and yielded to His omniscient plan as she serves with her husband at Corinthian Temple Church in Chicago, Illinois. Partnering with her husband in ministry has allowed Dr. Whittley to continue her God-given passion to help improve lives, imparting both medical and Biblical knowledge. Serving the Corinthian Temple family, she dutifully functions as the Director of Women’s Ministries, the Director of Membership Services, as Business Manager for United for Better Living (the community outreach arm of the Church), as a teacher of God’s Word, and as the chief Medical Advisor to the people of God.   Dr. Whittley serves the National Church of God in Christ as a member of the Health & Wellness Committee for the COGIC Pastors & Elders Council and she is an Advisor to the Mayor’s Office for Early Childhood Education for the city of Chicago.

Far beyond her many outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Chan, as she affectionately called, declares her greatest testimony is being saved, sanctified, and filled with God’s precious Holy Ghost.

In Dr. Chan spare time, she makes sure it's spent with her loving husband, Pastor Dave, David Jonathan and Sydney.
